Since booklet puts 2 pages side by side, 2 A6 pages should fit perfectly on A5. Then open the PDF in a PDF reader and try printing from there. To do this, go to File > Save As and select the PDF format. Try printing as a PDF: You can try printing your booklet as a PDF and then print the PDF instead. The PDF is in page format (instead of spread format), and page size of the PDF is A6 and I'm printing on A5 paper.
